Hi I'm Jesse

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just a regular guy. I love comic strips and puns. I've played football and basketball, but I will pretty much play any game or sport that people are playing. I like to be outside and have fun. I love hiking and camping. I'm the youngest of six kids and that has taught me to be flexible and adaptable. I go with the flow, unless going with the flow means doing something that doesn't feel right. I like to write stories. My aim of writing is to make someone laugh, or at least smile. Happiness should be our goal. For ourselves and those around us. Life is hard, but God is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon all my life. My family always went to church on Sunday. But I didn't always know that this church was true. As a teenager, I began to wonder why I was even going to church. It was just what my family did, and I liked to be with my family. Still I questioned if I even believed in what I was doing. Shortly thereafter I found myself swamped in low self esteem. Terrible thoughts of worthlessness and hatred ran through my mind constantly. Desperate, I turned to prayer. I prayed more sincerely than ever before. What I felt is indescribable. Love and warmth filled my body and my mind was at peace. I am a Mormon because I cannot deny that feeling. I've prayed to Him and I've read the Book of Mormon and feltthe Spirit whisper to me that it is true. I know Jesus Christ walked the earth and atoned for our sins. I'm grateful everyday for that knowledge. I know Joseph Smith saw God the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ. I know through him, God has restored His church to the earth today. I know the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. I cannot deny it. I know as we read that book and pray about it, we can come to know of a surety that God lives and this is His church on the earth today!

How I live my faith

I have recently been called to serve a full-time mission. I'm leaving my family, friends, and schooling behind for two years to serve the Lord. Every day of those two years will be spent serving others and teaching others of the love God has for His children. Throughout my years I have been in positions where I serve my peers and help them to remember this love and to come unto Christ. As young men, we often participated in service projects for the elderly people in our neighborhood. I strive to live each day in service to others, for "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God."
