Hi I'm Landon

I smile a lot, I hang out with Haitians, I play football and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love doing anything that gets the adrenaline pumping! Due to that I enjoy a wide variety of sports including football, wrestling, throwing the shot put and discus, ultimate frizbee, and pretty much anything else. I also have a nerdy side and love playing any kind of video game. I also love to cook food and experiment with new recipes all the time. My vision for myself is to graduate college with a masters in Psychology from Utah State and work in counseling for either adolescents in bad situations or married couples who are struggling. I have a really big, compassionate heart and love coming to understanding with people. The only thing that frustrates me in life is misunderstanding. I enjoy hanging out with my awesome family. Right now I'm serving a mission in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, yep the exciting mission. I speak Haitian Creole (yes it's a real language) and love the haitian people to death! And most important, I love Jesus :).

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by amazing parents and always surrounded by very spiritual friends. Despite their testimonies and examples the importance of the Gospel and of Jesus Christ never really sunk in during my childhood. It wasn't until I tried to avoid everything about the Restored Gospel that I realized how empty life was without the fullness of Christs teachings and prophecies. After a while I finally decided to read the Book of Mormon and really started to care about where my life was going and what kind of person I wanted to be, in this life. Now I have more hope, direction, and happiness in my life because Jesus is my light. What more do I need?

How I live my faith

I live my faith by treating everyone the way the Savior would have treated them. I have realized that everyone is important to God and to Jesus, so why shouldn't they be important to me as well. I always love to see smiles come on peoples faces when they are served in little ways. Service is the greatest way I have to live the faith and to help others come a little closer to Christ every day. After all, everything that Christ did on the earth was an act of service. He healed the sick, gave comfort to those in need, and redeemed everyone's souls from hell. So I follow his example and serve others :)

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Landon
It is important for us to take care of our bodies because they are a gift from our Heavenly Father. When the body is referred to as a temple this is very literal. Our bodies are very sacred. Having a body gives us a chance to learn of feelings and sensations that we couldn't receive without one. We must show God that we appreciate the gift and opportunity he has given us to have a body. With a body we can receive the ultimate joy of becoming as God is, and having all of the Joy and happiness which he has. When we take care of our bodies and show God that we appreciate them, he blesses us with health, happiness, confidence, and his love. Show more Show less
