Hi I'm Michelle

I am a mother of 2 children. I want to be a teacher in Special Education. I love ice cream. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time mom of a beautiful daughter and another on the way. I have a teaching certificate in special education and hope to one day teach. I also love music and would love to teach piano lessons and voice lessons. I got married 3 years ago to my best friend. Between school and work, we don't get to see each other as much as we'd like, but we treasure every moment we have. We love to go walking together, play racquetball, go hiking, or watch a movie. I love being outside on summer evenings going for walks or eating dinner.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a Mormon church, I still had to figure out what I believed in. When I was in jr. high, I decided it was about time to gain a testimony for myself and decide if Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the true church. I started to read the Book of Mormon each night and praying more often. I found that as I read, I felt good about what I was reading. I had better days, I felt better about life (which can be a challenge during those awkward teenage years), and I felt like had a better understanding of who I was. The day I finished the Book of Mormon I knelt down and asked God if it was true. Thinking back, I think I always knew it was true, but God was gracious enough to answer my prayer that night. I felt the confirmation of the Spirit telling me that the Book of Mormon was true scripture. Since that day I have had a lot of other little experiences that have added to my faith and testimony. With each experience I feel closer to God. These have added together to help me have a happy life with a knowledge of where I'm going and why I'm here. That is why I choose to be a Mormon. It has helped me find so much happiness in my life. I know it's true.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to play the piano each week during church. I love being able to help accompany those singing the hymns of God. Music brings an added measure of the Spirit in my life. I also enjoy serving the women in the community. Each month I look forward to going visiting teaching, where I can get to know others and find ways to serve them.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Some things that tell me there is a God are the everyday miracles. They aren't always big, but they are manifestations of God and His love for me. It could be a beautiful spring day, a kind act of service when I needed it, or hearing a song that inspires me. Show more Show less
