Hi I'm James Boatman

Hello. I'm a Mormon. I was born and raised in Southern California. Love music, playing the guitar, and spending time with family.

About Me

I am a returned missionary. I love to play the guitar, bass, and ukulele. I also love listening to music that is inspiring and beautiful. I love to read the holy scriptures and find new information each time I read them. I went to the University of California Riverside for two years as a psychology major. I am interested in teaching young kids for a career. I would love to teach high school in my future and help young people to be prepared not only in the academic world, but also in life as a whole. I love to spend time with my sweetheart and I am more than greatful for the wonderful blessing she has been in my life. As I have followed the gospel of Jesus Christ and his teachings my life has been much better. I have been happier, more peaceful, and confident in myself than I have ever been. I love spending time with my family and seeing the happiness that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings to their lives. I hope that I can became more like my savior each day and learn to love all men and women with a sincere heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a "Mormon", aka a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because our church is founded upon the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel has changed me and made me a better son, grandson, and future husband to a beautiful young lady. I am a mormon because of the joy that I find being apart of this church. I love going to church every sunday to worship our God and to strengthen my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a mormon because I know without a doubt that the mormon church is truly governed by the living God of our souls. I love this church and the peace that it brings to my life. I was born in the mormon church and was baptized at the age of 8. As I got older and started going to high school I began to stop attending church. 5 years later I was asked by my sister if I would go to church with her. I did not want to go... but she bribed me by saying she would scratch my back during the church service (sacrament). I went to church and I felt a great spirit and peace there. I thought I was going to be uncomfortable, but instead I felt peaceful and very welcomed. I went back and really enjoyed going every week. I decided that I was going to serve a mission for the church because I loved the teaching so much and I fostered a true love for this church. I know it is the true church of God without a doubt. I love being a mormon... I wouldnt have it any other way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the commandments of God to the best of my ability. I strive everyday to come closer to my Father in Heaven through my faith in Jesus Christ. I went on a mission to Edmonton, Canada for two years to share my faith with others and show them the happiness that I have. Anyone can enjoy this same happiness I enjoy. I live my faith by following the counsel of our prophet, Thomas S. Monson, and those who assist him. I live my faith by praying daily, studying my scriptures, and pondering the sacred truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

James Boatman
Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God. He is the way, the truth, and the life. We cannot attain salvation, or return to heaven without believing, following, and becoming like Him. As a human sinner, loyal follower, and Latter Day Saint, I love Him with all my soul and yearn to obey His teachings forever! Show more Show less
