Hi I'm Zach

I go to BYU, called to serve in the Everett Washington mission speaking Spanish. I'm a convert, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love my life! I love my friends and just hanging out with them. I love to hike, rock climb, and play just about any sport even though i'm not the best. I love music and the arts such as singing, dancing, and playing instruments. I just finished my freshman year at Brigham Young University, and am called to serve as a missionary in the Washington Everett mission. I will be speaking Spanish and enter the MTC June 5th, 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, making a very long story short - I am a convert, or someone who hasn't been Mormon their entire life. I came to know of the gospel through my mom when I lived with her. She is a Mormon and she always used to take me to church and teach me about Christ. I loved it and those were my earliest memories I have. When I went to live with my dad who is not a member, all of that changed and I didn't end up going to church that much. My Middle School and High School years had me end up not caring about it and being very apathetic. However, questions came into my mind as I was thinking "How is it that God loves us but I can't feel him", "Why don't I feel at peace when I go to these other churches", and "What can I do to know the truth". I finally decided to pray, as I was taught in my childhood, to God and ask what is true. I felt I needed to know more about the Bible, know for myself that it was true before anything. A few months later, I began to read the Book of Mormon and slowly came to know that it was a true book. that Joseph Smith translated it by the power of God, and that he restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. I shortly afterwards got baptized and since then have grown so much in the gospel. I feel Jesus's warm embrace throughout everything in my life. My faith increases each day, and I notice my life become better and better. I love this church, my Christ, and my God!

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has helped me in my life so much, and I don't know where I would be or what I would be doing without it. The love, comfort and peace I feel with this gospel has blessed my life so much I just can't help but want to help others find this light. It has made me want to be a better person. I often find myself wanting to help others and give charity to them to let them know that they are loved. That is the main reason I decided to become a missionary, to send this message of peace, love and comfort to those who are searching for it. I always want others to take part in the joy and happiness that I am feeling through the restored gospel on the earth. I love my church and this gospel!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

PRAY! Seriously, it's the only way to know! I did it! If you ask your Father in Heaven with a sincere heart and with real intent, he will let you know the truth. You will feel an overwhelming sense of comfort and peace that you have never felt before. Show more Show less
