Hi I'm Kyler

I'm a future engineer, amateur pianist, enthusiastic reader, lover of all things pertaining to video games, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read just about anything. Usually when I want to escape from the world for awhile I pick up a book and get myself lost in the pages of a great adventure novel or engross my mind in a thrilling mystery book. My favorite would have to be Clive Cussler who writes great adventure/modern science novels. I also love Rick Riordan, the author of the Percy Jackson series. My other passion is piano. I started learning at a young age and although I sometimes fought against the idea of learning piano I am very glad I didn't. Whenever I have some spare time I like to go play a few tunes. My favorite song that I have learned so far is "Waterfall" by Jon Schmidt. Some of my other hobbies are running and camping. I once ran a half marathon and plan on doing many more. I also love camping because I like just getting away from it all. I love just sitting under a tree, far away from civilization, and relaxing, listening to the wind and enjoying the silence. I attend BYU Provo and plan on majoring in some form of engineering (i'm not quite sure which branch yet).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My parents and my grandparents were also raised LDS. From an early age my parents have showed me how to live my life so that I may be in line with the statutes and commandments of God. Their teaching influenced me to live my life in a way that I can keep in good standing with God. Throughout my life I have had experiences that have given me a sure knowledge that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's true church on the Earth. Though these experiences are not fantastic or extraordinary in any sense they have helped me discover what I want from life and that being a part of this great church is the best way I can obtain my goals and dreams.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. I do my best to attend every church function my ward or stake puts on. And I go hometeaching with my bishop at least once a month to see how certain members in our ward are doing. I also do my best to live my life that is in line with the gospel of this church. I try to avoid anything that may damage my standing or relationship with God. I also attended Seminary throughout my entire time in highschool. I really enjoyed deepening my knowledge of the Gospel of Christ and learning more from the scriptures. I plan on serving a mission and was called to serve in the Veracruz, Mexico Mission.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Missionaries save up the money necessary to serve a mission and serve at their own expense and with the help of their families. They buy all the materials and supplies necessary to serve for 18 months to two years. While some may see it as a weight, I see it as a sacrifice that helps demonstrate your faith and desire to serve God and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
