Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up on a farm. I am a math whiz. I married my high school sweetheart. I am a mom of 4 crazy kids and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to hunt for bargains, craft, and read juvenile fiction. I double majored in history and math in college and taught high school for four years before staying home to be a mom. I do private math tutoring now. I love working with teenagers and have frequently volunteered with the 12-18 year old girls in our church. I also volunteer at my children's schools, serve in the office of our local LDS Temple, and like to organize messes. Mostly though, I can be found driving my children around to their various activities. My husband is my best friend but I do love girl's night out and visiting with my friends. I am a lucky girl.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Baptist, but visited the LDS church with my best friend when I was 14. From my very first visit, I knew the lessons they were teaching were true. I felt like the LDS church had the complete gospel of Jesus Christ and I could not deny that it was true. I never stopped going to the LDS Church. Being baptized was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I went to a small private liberal arts university, where I was the only LDS member for most of my four years. However, my LDS standards and testimony gave me such confidence and joy that I never felt alone. I love that my family will be together forever. I am forever grateful to my Savior, Jesus Christ. My church congregation is my extended family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. From having my teenage children attend a 6:40 am bible study (or seminar) class daily to ending the day with a family prayer, my beliefs are a part of everything I do. I go to a Book of Mormon Study Class every Tuesday. I answer phones and do office work at the Louisville LDS Temple on alternate Fridays. I attend church every Sunday, where I teach an amazing group of 17 year olds. I regularly visit with ladies in my congregation and we have lots of fun activities for our children, including Boy Scouts, teen youth groups, church basketball leagues, dances, and service opportunities. I even play volleyball (very poorly) and take Spanish lessons at my church.
