Hi I'm Matthew Walch

I'm from Provo, UT. I like to longboard, read, and work on my truck. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm on an LDS Mission in the Billings, Montana Mission, which includes all of Montana and about a third of Wyoming, but when I get home I'll live in Utah. I'll be going to college at Utah Valley University in the automotive repair program. I'll probably finish my certificate in that, and then go on to get a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Science, Criminal Justice or Software Engineering. I'm the oldest of five kids. My dad works as an editor in a Utah based paper, my mom is a full time mother. I love to go longboarding, drive/fix my 86 Bronco (I spend probably about as much time fixing it as I do driving it), watch movies, read books, and play sports (ultimate frisbee, basketball, volleyball... it's all good) and chill with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith, but I had to come to a knowledge that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true all on my own. I've done that through reading the Book of Mormon and sincerely asking my Father in Heaven whether or not it was brought forth by His hand. I received a confirmation that it was through the power of the Holy Ghost, and since I know that he is God's servant, and God won't lie to me, I have a strong belief that the Book of Mormon really is the word of God, and it stands next to the Bible as a testament of Jesus Christ and his divinity. That leads me to know also that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet, because no one other than a prophet can reveal the word of God, and that the church he organized was organized with the authorization of God, which is this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by accepting and fulfilling callings that my Church leaders extend to me. For a year and a half, I was called as an assistant scout leader for the eleven year old boys in my ward. Now I serve the Lord and his purpose directly by serving a full time mission, where I invite others to learn of the gospel.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Matthew Walch
Absolutely. That's one of my favorite parts of what being a Mormon means to me. I'll get to live with my sweetheart (I'm not married yet, so I don't know exactly who that will be) and (future) children forever in heaven, along with my brother, sisters, mom, dad, grandma's, grandpa's... Everyone that I love! I'll get to spend the rest of eternity with my favorite people. Show more Show less
