Hi I'm Nico

I'm proud to be a Chilean American, green is the best color ever, and I'm definitely a Mormon.

About Me

I definitely am a type of person that likes to be happy and smiles a lot. I really enjoy being a young man learning about many things around me. I really like to play the piano and the drums. I also like to listen to a lot of music, particularly all types of rock music. I have wonderful parents and four brothers in my family. I really love to be outdoors and go camping and hiking. It is very beautiful to be able to go out and enjoy the nature. I really like to learn, especially mathematics and science. I am planning on being an engineer as my career (I'm still not sure what type of engineer for now.). Right now I am serving the people here in the state of Yucatan in Mexico, bringing them the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a little boy, I thought church has always been a happy place, and it still is. But I also feel more peace because of the strong spirit in the church. I then started reading the Book of Mormon and what I know is that this book is true. That is when I really know for myself that this is the only true church. Without the Book of Mormon, I may have still been wondering if this is the church of Jesus Christ. I know that this book has brought me closer to our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I also know that God answers my prayers always. He wants all of us to succeed in life, so he helps us out as long as we follow His commandments and strive to do our best. Those three things (pray to God, read the Book of Mormon, and attending church) is why I'm a member of this true church.

How I live my faith

Well I live my faith by being an example to others by doing what's right and being obedient. I live my life by following God's commandments and doing good. But the most important thing is to love our Heavenly Father and everyone in this world. Showing our love to others include service, helping others, and comforting them. I strive to do good and to love everyone, especially those people in need. I know that charity is the pure love of Christ and that it's absolutely necessary because without charity we are nothing. I really improve on the attributes of Christ and apply them in my life daily. It's true that my faith grows through studying the scriptures, praying daily, attending church, and keeping the commandments. But when I serve others and invite others to come unto Christ, my faith grows even more.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Nico
The authority that many of the male members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints comes from our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. John the Baptist had that authority from God to perform baptisms. Also Jesus Christ gave the priesthood authority to the twelve apostles to act under his authority. However, as they all were killed by wicked people, the authority of God is no longer on the earth. When the Church of Jesus Christ was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, he also recieved the authority from John the Baptist to baptize, as well as Peter, James, and John to have the authority to give the gift of the Holy Ghost. Those two things are necessary together, first with baptism by water, then baptism by fire (receiving the Holy Ghost). Show more Show less
