Hi I'm Rhonda

I grew up in beautiful Oregon, in the United States. I am a convert. I am proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother. I have three wonderful children all young adults. I work in education and love to help children develop a love of reading. I love to read myself. Mysteries and Native American Historical Fiction are my favorite genres. I like to spend time in nature walking, hiking and camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I started looking for answers to questions that I had about God and my place in this world at a very young age. I had a church that I went to as a child that was wonderful but the questions I had were not answered. I had a need to know where I came from and why I was here. As a teenager I met a young man whom I dated. He was a Mormon. I really liked his family and was especially impressed with his sister. She was an outstanding athlete. She was interviewed about her success and I will never forget her answer to a question that the interviewer asked. The question was what do yo want to do after you graduate high school? Of course many people expected her to answer that she wanted to go on to professional sports or coaching but she just said in a very confident manner "I want to be a wife and mother." It just impressed me so much that being a wife and a mother was that important to her. It was what I had wanted too. I started taking the missionary lessons and was baptized by that young man. He is now my husband of 28 years and I will soon be a member of this church for 30 years. It has never been a question in my life to be anything else. I know that this is where the Lord wants me to be. I know Him, Jesus is my savior and redeemer. I know that the Gospel is the true way to be happy. Living it is the answer to prayers. We are here to learn all that we can and prepare to return to Him . Jospeh Smith brought the Gospel of Christ to us through the ancient book, The Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ. We have a living prophet to guide us now. I will serve Him by serving my fellow man. This is my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ Amen

How I live my faith

I have been involved in all areas of the Church from the Primary which is the childrens organization, the Young womens group and I have taught Sunday School to the teenagers. I am now serving in the womens organization. I love to serve anyway I can. We have sisters that we are assigned to to check in with and just visit each month. This program is called Visiting Teaching. I have 3 wonderful sisters that I have developed a great relationship with. We have grown close. There are many opportunites to give service to the community from a yearly clean-up at our local elementary school to an annual blanket drive for babies at a local hospital just to name a few. Serving is how I live my faith.
