Hi I'm Dale

I like martial arts and outdoor activities - bicycling, hiking and camping, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father. My wife and children keep me grounded with many opportunities to learn and grow. I am an audio geek; I have worked in professional audio for most of my career. I owned a recording studio and live sound company. I currently work in product development for a professional audio company creating amazingly cool signal processing, amplification and loudspeaker products. I am an outdoor enthusiast - I love bicycling, hiking and camping. I am a martial artist; I enjoy studying the Japanese art of Aikido. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, so for much of my childhood and teenage years I relied on others for my beliefs. As I grew older and prepared to go on a mission I recognized that I could not go unless I knew for myself that the Gospel of Jesus Christ that I had learned about growing up was true. I began to read the Book of Mormon with the purpose of gaining a testimony. As I read, many of the doctrines and passages were reaffirmed to me, but it wasn't until I finished the book that I prayed with full intent for an answer to the question, "Is the Book of Mormon true?" I was afraid that I might not get an answer, but I tried to have faith. After I finished my prayer a warm peaceful feeling enveloped my body and I knew without a doubt that this was the Holy Spirit confirming to me that it was true. I knew that if the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith must be a true prophet. That the Gospel of Jesus Christ that was restored through him was true, and the only way that we can return to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we all have callings, ways that we help out in our congregation. I have held many different callings over the years. I am currently the Assistant Scout Master. I go with the boys on outings and help them with their advancement. Before that I had held callings where I was a teacher as well as positions of authority where I was responsible for ensuring that the physical and spiritual needs of many of the families in our congregation were taken care of.
