Hi I'm Addy

I'm a missionary headed to Cusco Peru, a musician, lover of long hikes & crunchy peanut butter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was 10 years old, I drew a picture of myself in a red polka dot dress, a missionary tag pinned on my chest, and I wrote, "I am going to serve a mission" across the top. My parents framed it & put it up in my room, and I have it still to this day, as I leave for CUSCO, PERU (where I was called to serve my mission) in 3 DAYS! I am absolutely beyond stoked to serve the Lord. I played volleyball, basketball, and track & field in high school. I love music. Simply put, I just do. I play the piano, guitar & ukulele, and spend all my time singing. It is a hobby that will never die for me. Music is one way that I choose to praise my Heavenly Father. I live in a small town, and graduated in a class of 70 students. The small community is my home, and I feel great love there every single day. I love the mountains. They are my favorite place. I love sleeping outside under the stars. I love playing my ukulele around a fire. I love the smell of grass and dirt and trees. I love jumping in the lake on a summer day. I just love outside. Most of all though, I love my faith. My love is centered on the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. He has given me far more love than I deserve. I am so grateful for my religion, as it has brought me the most joy I could ever imaginre.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the LDS faith since birth. My parents are strong members in the church, as I am. Once a teenager, it was then my responsibility to find out if I really did believe in the doctrine we are taught in the church. After much prayer, I felt the spirit of the Lord so strongly in confirmation that this church really was true. I have a gained a strong testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and of the gospel. Very often at school people ask me "What are Mormons?" and many questions similar. I LOVE having the opportunity to share with them the things that make me happy and the things I KNOW to be true. Being able to share that light, that "good" that I know, that is within me, makes me SO happy.

How I live my faith

I go to a high school where few others have the same values as myself. When standing for right, I often stand alone. This, to me, is building strength in itself. In order to stand for what I know is right, I myself must believe it is right. Often times, people ask me about my religion. In these cases, I can't just have a testimony of Jesus Christ that is weak and unsure. I must know, with assurity, that the gospel is so real, that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that I will be able to live with Him and my Father again someday, if I live the commandments and remain worthy to be in his presence. I love sharing with others what makes me happy, which is why I LOVE to share the gospel and hope to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints someday. Serving is what I TRULY love, and want to be doing for the rest of my life.
