Hi I'm François

I'm a Mormon. I was converted at age 31. Today, I have many friends thanks to the Church, and life is fun!

About Me

I am married, and my sons are all adults now. I am much involved in Scouting as a leader and administrator, thanks to the Church which supports Scouting and its values. I work full time in personal finances. I enjoy downhill skiing and fishing.

Why I am a Mormon

After my first marriage, I tried to go to the Catholic church every week, but after a few months, my wife and I became bored, so we gave up. Later, a co-worker brought the 2 missionaries to my house to introduce them to me. I listened to their message and was baptized a few months later. it was nice at first, but when I started having problems in my couple, I stopped going to Church to try to salvage my marriage. When my wife left me, my friends from Church convinced me to come back to God and seek His help. I started attending weekly Church meetings again, and I asked God for his help in keeping custody of my 2 sons, and I promised to Him that I would teach the Gospel to my sons; and I also asked him to help me find a new wife. Boy did God deliver, and fast! I got full custody of my sons, I got the house and even received child support payments from my ex-wife. And shortly after that, I met the woman who is my wife today, through a Church activity. We were married the same year. What I received, I do not attribute to luck, it is to perfectly close to what I asked for and what I needed, so I know God's hand was in everything I received. I testify that know God lives. I have been abundantly blessed by Him, he is generous, loving and patient with me. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who gave his life so that all men may be purified by His Atoning Sacrifice, including me.

How I live my faith

Over the years, I have been asked to serve as a Church leader in various roles. These last few years, I have been involved with the youth of the Church, organizing activities or accompanying them to activities organized by others. In particular, I am a ScoutMaster and enjoy outdoor activities with the young men of the Church, and with their non-member friends. For the young men, I organize camps, hikes or visits of an educational nature. I derive great pleasure when the young men come back every week with big smiles on their faces, because they like what they do and want more. It tells me that I am doing a good job and it encourages me to continue. In Church, I teach the Gospel to these young men, and they learn well, because of the relationship we share, thanks to the activities we do together.

What is being a Mormon like?

It is living a regular life, but the Gospel gives me a relationship with God, which brings me peace of mind. I do not worry about things that might happen, because I know God will look out for me and for my family. Yes, Church activity keeps me busy, but in exchange, I have great friends, I have a good job, a beautiful wife, and I do things I enjoy doing in my spare time. And I know for sure that if I am faithful, I will be protected and have joy in my life, with my family. Show more Show less
