Hi I'm Sunny Yoko Griffin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from California. I'm currently a senior in College; about to graduate. I am 23 years old. I am single. I love to sing, play piano,go to the beach,go out and eat with friends, camp, backpack, rock climb, wakeboard. I've been to Japan a few times and have lived there for a year and a half.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members. When I was seventeen I wanted to know if the church was really true and if the Book of Mormon was really the word of God. I had gone to a conference that was held for the youth of our church (14-18 year olds). I had heard many of my peers bear their testimonies, and how the gospel and the Book of Mormon had blessed their lives, and how they knew that it was true. I wanted to find out for myself also. I did the only thing that I could do to find out if it was true. I decided to read the whole book of mormon and to pray about it. I started to read the book of mormon, and felt so good and so much truth when reading it that I could not put it down. I read it in 3 days. I knew it was true before I even prayed about it. I prayed to ask if it was true, but I already knew the answer. I felt so much love from our dear Father in Heaven. I knew that Heavenly father existed, that there was a plan made for us to return back to him. I knew that he had sent us a Savior, that it was the only way, for us to become cleansed from sin to return back to Heavenly Father. I know that our Father in Heaven, and our Savior Jesus Christ love us so much. I know that our father in Heaven sends us prophets to lead us through revelation. I know that when prophets speak that they speak the word of God. I know that the scriptures are true. I know that the Book of Mormon is also the word of God and anyone who reads it will feel the love of God and come to know that it is true. I am thankful for the gospel. It has been the biggest blessing in my life. It has guided me and helped me make important decisions, helps me remember why I am here, and what is really important. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have had the biggest blessing and opportunity to spend a year and a half teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to people in Japan. I was also able to do service there, and to teach english to adults and to children weekly. I have also been able to serve in the church as a sunday school teacher. I have had the opportunity to read the scriptures, and to plan lessons, and on sunday have discussions with the class and learn more and gain a deeper knowledge of the scriptures. It feels so good to hear what others have to say about the scriptures, and to be able to strengthen and uplift others and to be uplifted by them. Every one who is there is so loving and I feel like everyone is family when I go to church.
