Hi I'm Becky

I'm a Mormon. I live in Presque Isle, ME and attend the Caribou ward. I am a computer software educator and sell Pampered Chef!

About Me

I am a mother of three and happily married to a wonderful man. We both joined the church together in 1991. We were sealed in the temple at Washington, D.C in August 1992. I like to quilt, crochet and spend time outdoors. I work full-time, have a part time job and also attend college part time.

Why I am a Mormon

Shortly after we got married, my husband and I weren't happy with the church we were attending at the time. We began looking for a new church to attend. One Saturday while out in the community we were rounding the corner of a mall and almost ran over a couple of sister missionaries. They took advantage of the opportunity and offered us a Book of Mormon to read. My husband started reading his right away and I allowed mine to collect dust. The sister missionaries came over and started teaching us the lessons. I felt the Spirit right away and knew what they were teaching was true. After a couple of lessons I wanted to join the church. We made the decision that we both would only join if the other agreed. After a couple of lessons later and after we heard about eternal families we were to join the church. The gospel has been a wonderful blessing in my life and I can't imagine my life without it. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that we have a prophet on the earth today to guide us.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as our ward music director for our sacrament services and also serve in our Stake primary presidency. I enjoy visiting teaching and cherish the sisterhood that is found in the church. I also teach high school students seminary lessons in the morning. This year we are studying the Old Testament.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I do believe that there is a living prophet on the earth today. The prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. Growing up, I only studied the Bible as that is the only scripture that I had. Throughout the Old and Ne Testament we read of prophets such as Moses, Noah and Abraham to name a few. It never made sense to me that there wouldn't be a prophet today to lead the church. I believe that the prophet gives us words to live by and leads us in the direction needed for our day and time. Show more Show less
