Hi I'm Courtney

I love sports. I've lived in China. I love the beach. I am a college student.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of three children in my family. My younger brothers and I love to play sports. We love soccer, basketball, football, tennis, you name it, we play it. I love to spend time with my family and friends. I work as a nanny so when I'm not with family, friends or playing sports, the rest of my time is spent taking care of children. I love to laugh, I love the beach, and the summer time is my favorite. After my high school career I attended Utah State University for a year, spent 3 months traveling in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines, and am now attending BYU-Idaho. I am a true Californian who loves life, and try to enjoy every minute of it.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is what helps me be the person I am and need to become. My family and I have always been members of the church. I was baptized at the age of 8 and since that moment there has never been a question in my mind why I am a mormon. With out the knowledge of Who I am, Where I came from and where I am going, some experiences in my life could have left me very alone. I have had to rely on my faith and the knowledge that I have of our Heavenly Father many times to overcome difficult challenges in my life. Without the principles of the gospel I do not know where I would be in my life right now. Through my life I have gained a testimony of the reality of this gospel. I know without a doubt that Heavenly Father and Jesus christ are real. I know the our Savior Jesus Christ was resurrected and lives again. I know that he suffered for each of us individually so that the trials we endure are not done alone. He know exactly how we feel and because of the power of the atonement we can rely on him for strength and comfort, and he will lift us when we can not walk any more. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore the church, in these the latter days. I have a strong testimony of a living prophet Thomas S. Monson who leads and guides us today. I know that he is like a "watch man on a tower" who is directed by our Heavenly Father. I know that one day I will be able to live with my family forever in the presence of our Heavenly Father if I do my part here on earth.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the church.I have been called to visit people in the church who were sick or needed help, plan social events, care for young children during church so parents could attend meetings, and even be a president of a class and help delicate assignments. Many times I have been scared because of what I was asked to do. However, with the faith I have, I knew that I could do anything that was asked of me. Heavenly Father knows my potential and would not ask me to do something I couldn't do. All of these callings have helped me further develop qualities I have, and even discover some I did not know existed. I am always trying my best to live as the Savior did while he was here on the earth. Since the Savior can not be here on the earth right now I know I can be his hands. In my life I try and do those little things to help other people around me. Weather it is a physical act of service or just a simple word, I try and listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost so I can be aware of others needs.
