Hi I'm Johnathen

I'm a Mormon. I have not always been a mormon, I grew up in Southern California in a family that did attend church.

About Me

I am first a father, then husband. For work I am an Mechanical Engineer and I also do some electrical designs as well. For hobbies I am an amateur photographer and I used to play Hockey.

Why I am a Mormon

Over that last 10 or 12 years I visited many different churches trying to find a place that held similar beliefs that I had. What I found was a lot more questions than answers. That changed when my daughter (aged 9) started investigating The Church of Jesus Christ or Latter Day Saints. The missionaries welcomed our entire family to listen to what they had to say and encouraged us to ask questions.. not only about the church but of the scriptures. What they shared about their beliefs and about the prophet answered a lot of questions for me and my family. What we have found is the the 'mormons' believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ and of Prophets (both past and present) and for us we have received many blessings simply by trying to live by the example given to us by our savior Jesus Christ and that of the Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

For myself, I try to lead my family by example. Making time to spend with my family, helping them study scriptures and being a good role model. I have been asked, since joining the church recently, to teach classes on scripture and our prophets. At first I didn't know how I could teach the classes but through prayer and encouragement I find that not only can I do it, I am enjoying it. It has helped me study the scriptures for myself and taught me about really understanding them instead of just reading them.
