Hi I'm Beatrice Foong Jie Kim

I grew up in Malaysia in the care of loving parents and family members. I'm a daughter of God. I love life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Surrounded by sun, sea and sandy beaches, I currently live on one of the well known islands of the world, as people would say - "Paradise Island", "Aloha state" - more commonly known as the beautiful island of Hawaii. I'm a senior and would be graduating soon. I love the culture and diversity I see here, the spirit that they share with one another. I'm a girl with few words, but am always willing to learn. I love spending time with family and friends, I love helping and serving whenever there's a chance. I have a dream like everyone else does, I want to be able to serve Heavenly Father's children. I currently work at the PCC with great co-workers and would never regret for all the wonderful experience I've had there.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the gospel at a fairly young age, when our very brave mother had desired to accept this gospel in her life. As young as I was, I loved going to primary, love the friends I've met and enjoyed the activities at church. Though I was young, I was able to feel the sweet sense of peace and joy whenever we attend church, not knowing then that it was and have always been the spirit at work. I've always thought that I'm the 'happy girl' on Sundays, and soon enough the sabbath became a very special day, a special day for our family. Although my brother and I grew up with the gospel, but I was only confirmed a member of the church at the age of 14. By then I've gained that testimony of how the Lord works in miraculous ways, He does know me personally, and does have a plan specially prepared for me here on this earth. After being baptize, I've realized how things got rough and tougher, trials, temptations seemed more real and luring. I now know that it was because of that I was able to witness the love that Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father have for me, I also know that He constantly watches over me and have never leave me dealing with difficulties on my own. I'm a Mormon, because I know that He lives, and He is there. Deep in my heart I know this gospel to be true.

How I live my faith

As we were taught to be obedient to the Lord's commandments since young, we learned to keep the commandments and to endure to the end. Enduring to the end is always the toughest for me, because at times it was easier to fall back to my temporary desires. But realizing it, is always the first step to better myself. I participate in mostly church or other events that would help uplift me, doing services to help serve our neighbors, the orphan or old folks that just needed company. We organize activities that would help those in need and those that are striving to live a better life, one better than that they are living in. One of the better ways is to do the simple things each day, to smile to one another, to be honest in our dealings, to be grateful for each day that we live.
