Hi I'm McKenzie Spring Patterson

I am a student at BYU-Hawaii studying to become a marriage counselor, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am originally from Alpine Utah, where my wonderful family still resides. I love my family more than anything in the whole world. I am the forth of eight children and loved growing up in a big family. I have been blessed with so many opportunities, and I will be forever grateful to my parents who supported me in all I have done and accomplished. I worked as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) in a nursing home in Logan while attending Utah State for a year and a half. I was assigned to the Alzheimer's unit. No words will describe how much I loved the people I served. I have danced my whole life, and although I am no longer taking official classes, I continue to dance every single day no matter where I am; grocery store, biology class, the beach; the world is my ballroom. My senior year in high school I had an eating disorder, but the Lord put me in the right places at the right time. He gave me strength, and introduced me to the right people so that I could recover.

Why I am a Mormon

I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of God. I know that true happiness is achieved by following the teachings of the prophets and the Savior. I want to be married to my true love someday in the House of the Lord, where we can be sealed together for time and all eternity. I am so grateful for my Savior, who was crucified for the pains and sins of all men, but I also know that Jesus Christ loves me so much that if I was the only one he could have saved he would have died for me just the same. I love him so much, and I want to make him so proud. I can not wait until the day that he will take me in his arms and the trials of this life will make sense. Christ is always with me. He will never abandon me. There is no way to express in words how grateful I am for my membership in the LDS church. It is everything to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by thinking of others and how I can be a good example to them. I love everyone I come in contact with, and I want them to be so happy and blessed. I know this gospel can give them the same happiness it has offered me. I try to dress modestly, live the word of wisdom, pray and read my scriptures daily, and most importantly, serve those around me and love them as the savior loves them.
