Hi I'm Meng Zou

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Mainland China with non-siblings and the best of the best parents.

About Me

Now I am a college student in the States. I am really far away from my family. However, I never feel alone because I talk to them frequently and I know God shortens the distance between my family and I. I pray for them everyday and I know I am in their prayers too.

Why I am a Mormon

Five Years ago, a chance, my cousin invited me to church with her and her mother. First, I did not want to go because my thought of church was too many old people and nuts went to church. However, I just did not want to make my cousin down because she is indeed close to me. So I went to church with them. At the beginning, I was just sitting next to them and watching people. They sang and listened to others' talk. I did not pay attention to their words because I tried but could not understand anything. I mean a girl from no christian background, I absolutely did not know things and what I supposed to do? Although, I did not understand everything, I liked the people and feeling. It was a relaxing feeling. The following Sunday, my sweet cousin came to me and invited me to church again. It is always hard to say NO to her. I am very glad I went to church with her. Before I entered to church, I told myself I would pay more attention, if I still could not understand the message, I would not go any longer no matter who invites me. In church, I tried very hard to listen to them. There were a lady who was as same age as my mom. She was telling a story of her and her daughter. After she joined the church, she asked her daughter a question"Do you wanna be with me forever?" Her daughter answered" Of course. Everyone wants to be with their family forever, right?" So her mom told her to go some place with her on Sunday but she did not tell her daughter where to be. They went to church and a few weeks later, her daughter was baptized. When she was telling the story, I felt something in heart. What about me? I was searching for it, how can I be with my family forever? I love my family so much, even if they die, I still want to be their daughter. So I decided to go to church every Sunday and four months later I decided to join the church. But I was baptized alone. My parents supported me but they did not feel to do the same thing. So I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I think the very basic is I live the commandments daily. However, I think it is not enough that we just live the commandments. Serving people that makes me feel God's help and love for his children. In the process of serving, I feel strongly bliss as the tool of God. I know service enlarge my testimony and love of Heavenly father and his children. Especially, the more services you offer to others, the more faith you obtain thru services. A year ago, I came back from my mission, CA-OAKLAND/ SAN FRANCISCO Mission. As sisters we serve 18 months fully, just preach the gospel to everyone. It was the best time that I had in my life. However, through that 18 months, I recognized faith is not something that we have, it is something that we find ourselves. The more you search, the more you find. I have seen many people's lives have changed by following God and joined his church. I love serving God and his children. I love see their smiling faces. I love the joyful feeling the gospel has brought to my life. I know the Gospel is true and it is the only thing that I can hold dearly and no one can take it away from me.
