Hi I'm Seth Childers

I'm a student. I love to dance. I'm studying computer science (push up glasses). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student attending Brigham Young University - Idaho and am majoring in Computer Science. I served a mission in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and the people there have a special place in my heart! Amo eles demais! I love to play ultimate frisbee, dance, and party! I am the middle of seven kids in my family, I love to hike, I love to make websites, and I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

Do you know that feeling of wanting to know something, but not being able to settle on an answer easily? Such as knowing whether or not you should read a given book suggested by a friend. I know that it is a great book, but telling you that won't necessarily convince you of its greatness. You may ask many other people who have read it, and even come to the conclusion that everyone else loves it, but you won't know until you yourself read it and find out for yourself. Well that is my story in a nut-shell. I grew up a member of the church, and always heard others talk about the peace and joy that they felt when they prayed, studied the Book of Mormon, etc. and they knew that this was the true church teaching the truths that the Savior wants us to know. I began to crave this, and more than that I felt a need to be forgiven. I searched and prayed, and did all that I could to know from God that what I had been learning was true, and that I had been forgiven of my sins. It took a long time, but I did feel for myself an incredibly special feeling and I knew, somehow, that everything I had been learning was true and that the Savior was real and did in fact love me with a powerful love. From that moment onward, that feeling has only grown stronger and my knowledge of the truth has only continued to grow stronger as well.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life. It helps me live life happily each day, and on the bad days it helps me find peace. In the church we are taught about Jesus Christ and how He suffered for us and our pains, heart-aches, sadness, sicknesses, and for the unfair things that happen in life. When I am having a bad day, I pray and read the words of Christ and feel a noticeable and significant difference in both how I feel and my attitude towards whatever is happening. When life is good and things are going well, I recognize how the Lord has blessed me and do my best to show gratitude for all of the blessings I am given. But I also live my faith in the way I play! I love to dance and party, and what makes it even more enjoyable is dancing to clean and uplifting artists with others who enjoy such environments. When I don't have to worry about the kind of media or atmosphere that I am participating in, I am able to focus more on having fun and feeling worthy to call upon help from God later. It is possible to live a life that is both spiritual and full of partying and playing.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Seth Childers
When the missionaries visit your home they will talk about Christ and His sacrifice for us. The missionaries have a great desire to help others come unto Christ and understand more about Him. If you have any questions about Christ or about the church then they would love to answer any questions as well. Show more Show less
