Hi I'm Neil

I am a father and occupational therapist, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father and husband, I don't know if there is anything more difficult and at the same time more gratifying. When I'm not working, I enjoy every second possible with my wife and kids. Spending time with my wife and children is the best part of my day. I am a definitely family man, and I have a lot learn about raising kids. I am a bit of a sports fanatic, I really enjoy playing any and all sports. My latest kicks have been playing 18 holes of disc golf with my son and neighborhood friends at the local park and playing volleyball with my brothers. I just graduated with my masters degree after what seemed like forever in school. I am an occupational therapist and I work in a hospital helping people perform the most basic daily living tasks when they are to sick or injured to do them without help. I really love my job and love helping people accomplish the small things in life. The things that we all take for granite like brushing our own teeth or getting to the bathroom for the first time after being stuck in a bed for weeks.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the LDS church. I feel lucky to have been raised in a family that went to church every week as a child and teenager. This helped me to gain confidence that I had a father in heaven that loved me and was willing to help me. I also had many chances to learn about the stories and life of Jesus Christ. I learned about the atonement of Jesus Christ and was taught that I could be forgiven of my own sins. In high school I made it a priority in life to live what I believed and that forced me to decide and find out what I what I really believed. I remember reading the Book of Mormon, and praying on a regular basis because I wanted to know if what I was doing was correct. I found out that the Church of Jesus of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the true Church. I have followed the teachings of Jesus Christ, living prophets, and the scriptures of God. This knowledge has guided my life and been a road map to self confidence, find personal forgiveness, and obtain true happiness as a person, husband and father. I know that God is our father, I know that Jesus Christ has died and made it possible for us to repent and return to God with our families. I know that what I read as a teenager, and what I read now as an adult in the scriptures are real experiences of prophets of old and can be used and applied in our lives right now. I am a Mormon because of this knowledge and I know that who ever applies the promises and principles that God has put in place for us here on earth will receive what he promises.

How I live my faith

At church I have been called to help fathers and young adult men as they raise there families and attempt to make through the tough times in life. We get to plan activities for families, visit neighbors and also work with other leaders in the church to address the needs of families who are having a difficult time. I have been able to get to know many of my neighbors and there families and made some very good friends along the way. I have also learned a lot about myself as I have the chance to serve those around me. I feel like the teaching of Jesus Christ can be applied in every part of our lives, I know that they have made me a better employee, father, and most importantly husband.
