Hi I'm Kelsey Kreutzer

I grew up in Southern California, i like to play tennis, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of five children and grew up in Southern California. I love spending time with my family and all my nieces and nephews! I love to play tennis, go to the beach and lay in the sunshine. I am in my junior year of college at Brigham Young University- Idaho and majoring in international studies with a Spanish minor. I love trying new things and meeting new people! I attribute everything I am and have to my savior Jesus Christ and to God.

Why I am a Mormon

I knew for sure that the church was true when i was 15 years old, even though i've been a member my whole life. I went to church every Sunday and went to all my meetings because that was what my family did. There came a time when i needed to find out for myself if I truly believed the things I had learned all my life. In October of 2006, a friend from my ward invited me to attend General Conference with them in Salt Lake City. This occurs twice a year, where Saints around the world listen to the prophet and his apostles speak. It was my first trip to Utah! I remember sitting in the Sunday afternoon session and feeling a change in the atmosphere as the prophet Gordon B. Hinckley walked in the room. I couldn't deny that he was a man of God. I remember Elder Holland was the last speaker. He spoke of prophets and the spirit I felt was undeniable and strong. There was not a dry eye in the room because of the strong emotions felt, the love that we each felt for our prophet. That experience changed my life. I am a Mormon because I believe that God restored his gospel on this earth. Josepth Smith was the first prophet of these modern times. Through the power of God, he found and translated the words of ancient prophets, the Book of Mormon. He restored Christ's church on the earth and organized it. It is the same church that Christ established when he was on this earth, and the same church that we have today. Through the gospel, we can become clean of our sins, and start new. We can become better people, and through the power of Jesus Christ, we can change. One day, we can return to live with him, and be together with our families for all of eternity. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a full time mission in the Utah Ogden Mission. I teach people of all ages about the gospel and about how they can come unto Christ. I share with people the happiness and hope that I have. I help people to understand that our life on earth is only a small part of our existence. There is life beyond death, in which we can live in happiness and joy for eternity, with our families. What an incredible gift we have to be able to repent and be clean of all past sins. I am so grateful for this opportunity that I have, even though this mission is the hardest thing I have ever had done. I have my struggles, I have my insecurities and my flaws. But I feel my Savior's love and guidance as I turn to him in all that I do. Through repentance, I am able to work on these weaknesses step by step and feel the love and comfort of God. Acknowledge the Lord in all thy ways, and he shall direct thy path (proverbs 3:6).
