Hi I'm Lauren

I also go by "Mom", "Ms. Lauren the swim instructor" and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home wife and mother of four children, so I guess I fit the typical Mormon housewife mold. The thing is, I love it! There is nothing in the world that is more challenging, rewarding, and inspiring than raising a good family. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love to play the piano when I need to decompress. Reading is probably my all-time favorite hobby but is also all consuming for me when I have the right book in my hands. Cooking is not my favorite, but I love to bake and make pretty food! During the summer months, you will find me at the pool for hours every day. It's true that I love the warmth of Florida and the amazing beaches, but the pool is where my heart is. I teach young children how to save their lives and enjoy swimming in the process! Other than parenting, it is the most wonderful job I've ever had! Other than that, most of my time is spent on other people...MY people. I love my family. My family is my joy, my heart, my motivation, my reason for being who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

It's true that I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My Sundays have always been spent in church. I always believed in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, but it wasn't until I was a wife and mother that I knew of it's truthfulness. There is nothing on earth that brings me as much peace, joy and happiness as the gospel of Jesus Christ does. My happiest moments in life have been when I was most diligent in honoring my Savior, while my unhappiest have been when I was less in tune with the Spirit. That is half of the reason for why I am a Mormon. The other half of my reason belongs to my family. I can think of no better way to raise a family in this world than to do it hand in hand with the Lord. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has a defined pathway that leads us back to him in the most rewarding way possible. If my family follows it, we will be together for all eternity!

How I live my faith

Life is known to be full of surprises and events that can either strengthen us or tear us down. I try to live my life in a way that will keep me strong enough to weather the heavy storms. I try to be a safe place for friends and family to go to during struggles in their lives, and in so doing, I need to be strong enough to help build them up! Reading and studying the Gospel principles, scriptures, attending important church meetings and volunteering to help my congregation by teaching classes and aiding new members in their spiritual journey are a few ways that help me stay strong. Having a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven is so important and the only way to achieve that is through personal prayer. Prayer is the life-line that helps to keep the Spirit in my life and home. Through prayer, I am personally led to know which paths in my life will lead me back to Him.
