Hi I'm Catherine

I am from Las Vegas, have a CPA license, have a wonderful family and serve on the school board in my home in CO. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a womderful man and the mother of five beautiful children. I received my degree in accounting from BYU and have a CPA license. My career was put on hold to raise my children- a decision I will never regret. Once my children were all in school, I considered going back to work, but felt very strongly that I needed to volunteer in my community instead. I serve on the school board for our local district. It is a very time consuming, but very rewarding position.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon, which gave me great stability throughout my growing years. When I left home for college, I began to question my faith. This put me on a path of great confusion and unhappiness. When I turned back to my faith as a child, my previous happiness, confidence and stability returned. I learned for myself that our Father in Heaven is real and that when we live according to His will, we are truly happy. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or Mormon church) has the fullness of the gospel which was established by Jesus Christ while he was on the earth. We have a prophet of God who guides the church so that we are not "tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine(Ephesians 4:14)." Why am I am Mormon? My response is like that of Peter's when Christ asked him, "will ye also go away?" and Peter responded with, "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life."

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily by praying and reading the words of scriptures. I have been very involved in working with the youth (12-18 years old) over the years. My favorite position was when I taught seminary - a class taught to high schoolers every school day, usually before school. Even though it was a lot of work, it was incredibly rewarding. Though i am certainly not perfect, I try to live my faith daily by treating others with kindness, by listening to the promptings of the Holy Ghost to help others in need and by serving in our neighborhood and community.
