Hi I'm Anthony DeCarvalho

I'm an accountant. I am married to a beautiful wife, with two wonderful children. I love to write. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After spending many years in the workforce as supervisor/manager, I went back to school and got a bachelor's in accounting. I currently work for everyone's favorite federal agency, making sure your tax returns are correct ;p I love writing fiction and non-fiction. I have been known to play guitar and sing on occasion. Technology is a huge hobby for me: I love tinkering with the inexpensive Android phones and tablets.

Why I am a Mormon

Having seen the TV commercials over the years, then getting to know some members of the church, and having visited the Orlando Temple before it was dedicated, I had a vague idea about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It wasn't until I met my future wife and discovered she was a Mormon that I decided to study with the Missionaries and learn about the Book of Mormon myself. After reading the scriptures and praying, I felt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church and that I should become a member. Family is very important to me, and I believe the church affords the best opportunity for my family to be united in the faith, believing in Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father, and the Holy Spirit.

How I live my faith

Serving in the Elders Quorum at my ward, I've had many opportunities to serve others. I've become an expert at loading u-Haul trucks! I get to meet new people who move into town, and help out in any way that I can. I also work with the Cub Scouts, teaching them about nature, the stars, and how to build things like Pinewood Derby race cars!

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Anthony DeCarvalho
A ward is basically your church. What's great about wards and branches is that, no matter where you go in the world, you will find a group of believers who are sharing the same messages you would hear at home, and feel the same spirit of fellowship. Show more Show less
