Hi I'm Timothy

I am a 26 year old Philosophy Major. I am married, had my questions, and have found answers. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a normal guy who honestly just loves music and the joy it can bring. I went to college for mathematics, and hope to finish soon. I used to wrestle back in high school and miss it tons. I play the tuba and tenor sax, and am trying to learn the piano as much as possible. I sing wherever i go during the whole day. I have a big family of wonderful siblings that are all older then me. Three older brothers followed by two older sisters. Three of them are married and have blessed me with the coolest nieces and nephew i could ever have hoped for. They are amazing wonderful smart kids that are just so full of love for EVERYTHING. My parents are wonderful examples to me that are hard workers and always wanting to know more, which they gave to me also. You can usually find at least three books in my bag or car or room that I am reading at the same time because of my dad.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though i was raised in the church i wasnt always strong in the faith. I never really read the Book of Mormon or paid much attention and when i moved to school I went to church but for the social asspect not because I knew i should be there. After time going to church was harder and harder for me to attend. About a year ago i started going to church more and more for, again, the social aspect. It wasnt till later when i met a friend who was such a great example to me when I realized I needed to know the truth that was given to me my whole life. I read the Book of Mormon for the first time but just to read it now expecting an answer. A couple months later I decided I hadn't tried hard enough. I read the Book of Mormon in less then a month and prayed. Every day, and every night, i prayed. Every day was easier to wake up. Every day became easier to smile, and be happy. Everyday i felt the love of my savior more and more while i returned to his side. I know that the Lord loves me and wants me to return to Gods side.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. I live my faith by knowing the joy i have everyday can be given to everyone, and I have decided to serve His people in the country Honduras. I am serving a full time mission. Even though my faith is so much stronger then just a year ago, or even two months ago, I know that my faith will only keep growing by reading and praying to know the truth. I am not done growing in my faith, so I will always continue to find more knowledge and peace in the arms of my Savior. I do not regret for 1 second the one day i decided to turn my life around and pray to know. It is the only way someone can know... You can hear everyone elses testimony and think to yourself "that sounds great!" or "that sounds weird..." but NOONE can know until they kneel down for themselves and pray like the Prophet Joseph Smith. Once you kneel to pray, i know like when i did, the spirit will bless you with an answer, one way or another.

In whom should we have faith?

Timothy
We must have faith in Jesus, that he is THE Christ. Not just a belief but a faith, that when it is gained will lead us to action. An action to make yourself better. That is all Christ asks. Have faith in him, because everything else will come from that. Show more Show less
