Hi I'm Drew Bailey!!

I am just a simple guy that has had a lot of experiences that have taught me that there is a God and he really does know me.

About Me

I am originally from Burley, Idaho. I am the youngest of four. Two boys and two girls. My Dad has been a teacher and coach for over forty years now so I have grown up loving sports. I played just about everything growing up but I really love running, playing basketball and football. My wife and I love to go on walks and go to movies! We live in Logan, Utah where we are going to school. I will graduate this year with my Bachelor's in Communication Studies and Management from Utah State University. I plan to go on to Grad School to study Athletic Administration.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents split up when I was ten. It was really hard for me and my family. My Dad is a convert and my Mom's family has a long history of being members in her family. After the divorce my family fell away from the church. I grew up spending a lot of time by myself and really struggled with the idea of God or some type of Loving Heavenly Father. I could not understand why if there was such a person why he would give us trials. Why would he allow all these horrible things to happen to me and my family? I not only resented him but I did all I could to push him out of my life. I had a great group of friends during high school that really helped me through my struggles. I eventually had a very strong spiritual experience which led me to want to know God. My attitude began to change towards him and over time I found that I wanted and needed him in my life more than ever. As I invited him back into my life I found hope and love that I did not know could exist. I became very active in the church and even decided to serve a LDS mission. I served my mission in Siberia, Russia and Kazakhstan. That one choice shaped and changed me into the man I needed to be for the rest of my life. I continue to follow Christ because he has been there for me when no one else has. He has given me my life back. I know that God loves me and knows me personally. He helps me everyday. I know this Gospel is true because I have put it to the test. I have done all I could to find an answer and I know that I received a personal witness from God. I have read the Book of Mormon and Bible and I have prayed to know of their truthfulness. I not only received an answer but they made me a better person. I know that faith is not something you get once and it never goes away. It is something I will continue to work for and gain. I know God will be with me every step of the way.

How I live my faith

After choosing to serve a mission, my idea of God's love changed. I have always loved people but serving a mission showed me the importance of serving and loving those around you. One of the biggest things I have learned is that no one is perfect especially myself. I have struggled to the point where I have questioned the point of going on. I have had tons of doubts, fears, and nights lying awake wondering what is my purpose. I have made so many mistakes in my life but I have found that as I continue to get up and brush myself off and keep trying that God continues to help me along the way. I live my faith by continuing to try everyday. I know I can not be perfect but I know that I can try my best. I have found that as I try to look outside of myself that that is when I am the most happy. We are all God's children. The random person down the street is looking for the same peace and love that I want. How I treat and view others is a reflection of my faith and belief that God loves us all. I try my best to show that love to others. Of course I am not perfect at that either but I know by trying that I can change someone elses experience. I live my faith by being honest, real and accountable with everyone I meet. When I make a mistake I try to sincerely fix it and make it better. I look for opportunities to help others around me or give a compliment any chance I get. I try to put myself in others situations and understand how I can help them. I have found that the things that help build my faith in Christ are doing the little things consistently. Setting goals and taking time to reevaluate those goals and plan have helped me keep on track with where I want to go in life.
