Hi I'm Matthew Liu

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music, I play the piano and the pipe organ. I love going to Abravanel Hall to attend classical concerts. I enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family, whether it be playing a board game, watching a movie, or just sitting around together sharing stories, jokes, or experiences. I enjoy spending time outside hiking, rock climbing, playing frisbee, and soccer. Indoors, I enjoy playing the piano, watching movies, playing ping-pong, dodgeball, board games, and relaxing. I'm a Pharmacy Technician, a college student at BYU, a musician, people oriented, and a laughable person.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was born I was blessed to be part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. For me, it was something I took for granted growing up. As a young child I felt the influence, peace, and comfort of my loving Heavenly Father. I remember searching for happiness, I remember having great friends, having great neighbors, and having a strong family who taught me how I can become sucessful. I knew something was missing in my life because I was not happy. I would go through my day as a young teenager and look at my family members, friends, and schoolmates always happy, optimistic, and care-free. It was not that I was doing anything bad, it was not that I was different from anyone else, but deep in side, something was missing. As I searched, I expected that something in the world, something physical, that would give me happiness. To my surprise, what I was looking for, was taught to me every Sunday, was shown by my parent's example, was even shown to me from God, through the Holy Ghost. All I had to do was turn to God. As I grew closer to God through reading the teachings of his beloved son, even Jesus Christ, my happiness grew, my outlook in life changed. This is why I am a Mormon, to let others know the joy, peace, and comfort that they can experience. To share with people that there is hope, there is happiness, and there is love, from someone who will always be there; our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching being an example of the believers. I volunteered for a NYLT course, helping teenagers become more like leaders. My pupose for them is to look upon me as a leader that exemplifies what Christ would think, say and act.
