Hi I'm Leah

I grew up as a Texas girl, but fell in love with the East Coast. I spend most my time with preschool kids. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a teacher at heart. First I wanted to be a children's librarian, then a teacher, and now I've landed in the museum field. I teach classes for toddlers and preschoolers at an art museum and love being surrounded by beautiful art and enthusiastic kids. In my spare time I like to read, play the piano, talk with friends & family, and try to channel my inner Martha Stewart with lots of crafty and sewing projects.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and my mom has always been one of my biggest inspirations. She was raised in the Baptist faith and then became a Mormon after she married my father. I never remember a time when I didn't know that there was a Heavenly Father and that He loved me. And that feeling has always stayed with me. When I turned 21, I wanted to share that love and faith with others and served as a missionary for the church in Nagoya, Japan.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in quiet ways every day--things that most people can't see. I pray daily, read the scriptures, and try my best to live as the Savior did. My friends at work all know that I'm a Mormon and the standards I live by. In my congregation, I am in charge of our children's program for children ages 18 months - 11 years old. I love spending time with them each Sunday, and feeling their sweet spirits and sincere love for Heavenly Father.
