Hi I'm Cari

I grew up in the heart of Utah. No suprises there, I guess, that I am a Mormon. And I am so happy to be one.

About Me

I grew up in Provo, Utah. I went to College in Idaho and graduated with a degree in Child Development. I guess you could say I have lived somewhat of a typical Mormon life. I feel super lucky to be a Mormon. My faith gives me direction in life. I am happy. I love life. I love ultimate frisbee, fresh veggies from the garden, teaching piano lessons to kids, enjoying hikes and nature, as well being with family and friends. life is truly good and I am happy to be living it.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess you might say that my story is not unique. I was born in the heart of Utah to a large Mormon family. As a young child, my parents taught me of Jesus Christ and His gospel. I went to church with them, I learned to pray, and I gained an understanding of God and His love. So, of course I'd be a Mormon, right? As I continued to learn and live the the correct principles that I was taught, I discovered that I had been given a gift of truth and I had been blessed to be nurtured in an environment where my faith could easily blossom and grow. When I was about15 years old, I wanted to know for myself if what I had been taught as a child was really true. As a young child I had been taught that if I had a question, I could pray to God and ask Him. And so I did. I knelt beside my bed one day after school and asked God to help me know if what I believed was true. After I prayed, I remembered feeling peace. It was true. I decided that for me, if I just kept trying to do the things I felt were right, that God would continue lead me in the right. And He has. His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is on the earth. And being part of His church brings happiness. I am truly happy. I really am.

How I live my faith

Each day I wake up with the assurance that there is a God in the Heavens and He knows and loves each of His children here on earth, including me. I know that He will help me as I continue to try and do what He asks of me. I'm happy to serve others. Being part of His church is wonderful because each person is given the opportunity to serve others. Each Sunday I am able to serve as I teach a Sunday School class. I love to share God's word with others. Each week I make it a goal to find little ways to serve others each day; opening the door at the post office for someone, sending a note of encouragement to a friend, or visiting the nice little old ladies in the nursing home near my neighborhood. I feel so happy when I help others.
