Hi I'm Robin

I'm a stay-at-home wife, homeschooling mom and foster mom for special needs kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to the love-of-my-life for over twenty-five years. We have five children in our eternal family. Three boys and two girls. One of our daughters passed away at the age of 12. She was born with Aicardi Syndrome. We have been homeschooling our children from the very beginning. We love that we have been able to share so much time with them. We appreciate that every day we are able to discuss so many deep questions with our children about where we came from, why we are here and what our mission in life is and where we hope to go once we leave this earth. After the death of our daughter we decided to become foster parents for children with special needs. We have found much joy in serving these very special children. They are so pure and innocent and a real joy to be with and to love unconditionally.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a Mormon. I remember as a child when I decided that I needed a testimony of the truthfulness of the church for myself. I wanted to have some amazing experience where I would see an angel or hear a voice declare to me that the church was true. I never really had that. What I did have was many small experiences that when added together were so powerful that I could never deny that the Book of Mormon is a true book and that is was translated through Joseph Smith and that the church is truly the Saviors church reorganized on the earth again. It is true! I could not imagine living my life without the teachings of the Savior and the Prophets. One of the teachings that means so much to me is the principle of Eternal Families. Loosing a child is a very painful experience. But despite the pain of having to say goodbye in this life, I have so much peace knowing that I will see our daughter again and we will be a family forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day! My favorite part of every day is when our family gathers at night before bed for family scripture reading and prayer. I love the discussions about the scriptures that we have. Often we find that we will discuss events that have happened in our lives that day and realize that the scriptures we are reading can apply to what we are going through. I love how talking about the stories with my family makes the scriptures real and personal to us and our circumstances. I am currently serving in a position where I am able to oversee the Cub Scouting organization within the units of our Stake. I have enjoyed serving in many different responsibilities throughout my life but I especially enjoy the ones where I have been able to see the lives of valiant young men challenged and changed for the better. Scouting not only gives boys the adventures that they love but also the opportunities to grow into their roles as future leaders of our church and our country.
