Hi I'm Michele

I live with my family in the beautiful mountain valley that my pioneer ancestors settled. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life! I am thankful for this beautiful earth that we live on. I love sunsets and sunrises and moon rises over the mountains near my home. I am thankful to my loving Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ for providing this lovely earthly home for us, filled with trees, flowers, oceans, deserts, birds, fish, animals and wonderful human beings who share this life with me. I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, college graduate, and currently work as a secretary in a university setting. I enjoy sewing, cooking, bike riding, walking marathons, gardening, hiking, and most of all being with my husband, children and grandchildren!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my family heritage and being born into a Mormon family. But that is not the only reason I am a Mormon. I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to live the teachings of the church because doing so brings me great happiness. I love the doctrines of the gospel that teach of a loving Heavenly Father who knows us individually and hears and answers our prayers. And of our Savior Jesus Christ who is God's own son, who lived a perfect life and showed us by his example how to live and how to love and serve others. I am thankful for his life and atoning sacrifice in my behalf. Even though trials of life come our way, we can have peace and strength in facing those challenges. Because of the Savior, we can be forgiven of our sins and errors and we will be resurrected and live again after this life. Because of the teachings of the gospel and the saving ordinances offered in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I know that we can be sealed together with our families forever. All of these things bring so much happiness and joy into my life--and that is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily by being the very best wife and mother and sister and friend that I can possibly be. I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ by loving and serving others with a happy heart. My husband and I try to be good neighbors by helping in any way we can. We enjoy having a street party in our yard each year and love getting to know everyone on our street better with each gathering and each opportunity to serve. Currently I am a ward missionary. In that capacity I have the opportunity to visit people who are new to our neighborhood, welcome new babies into families with a meal and small gifts, encourage those who are sick or discouraged, and invite many people of all ages and backgrounds to join with us at church and other activities in our congregation. Living the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me and millions of others so much joy here on the earth and the opportunity to have eternal joy in the life to come.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

The beautiful earth and the heavens surrounding it testify to me that there is a God. The love that I am surrounded with by my family and friends and good people that I meet every day testify to me there is a God. As each of my children were born, including twins, I am amazed that from two little cells, a baby with fingers and toes and a brain and skin and hair and eyes that see and ears that hear, and personalities, and inherent talents and abilities--that a new person is created and born on earth--that is truly amazing and not random in any way--all of that testifies to me that there is a God. I know this without any doubt. I know that God lives, that he hears and answers our prayers and that he loves each one of us infinitely--just the way we are! Show more Show less
