Hi I'm Amy

I'm a cherished wife, a lucky mom, one grateful individual, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, let's see. I am married to one amazing guy. He's my best friend and the reason I smile every morning. He is a teacher, and I am a proud, stay-at-home mom. Heaven sends us many miracles to make it all work. We have five spunky, gorgeous, smart, entertaining, and exceptionally good kids. I spend my days cleaning, cooking, and driving; but I also spend my days talking, loving, listening, laughing, discovering, playing, and relishing. I have been so blessed. Me, myself and I? Well, I read. I build friendships. I try new recipes. I aspire to write, and I journal. I plan inexpensive vacations. I talk to God a lot. I let Him lead me. I dance in the living room. I create lists, and then check them off. I visit my Oma. And, I vow, one day, to leave my mark on the world in an unforgettable way. Until then, I am just grateful to be simply, and happily, living.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I truly believe in the teachings found in the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon was brought about through the power of God and that it is Holy Scripture. It has been a personal guide for me, a source of comfort and hope, and a great teacher. It testifies of our Savior, Jesus Christ, in such a profound way. In following His teachings found within the Book of Mormon and Bible I have been strengthened, my character has been refined, and my testimony in Him and His redeeming power has become sure. I am a Mormon because everything that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offers has brought me closer to my God. I am a Mormon because I have felt that unmistakable feeling that only comes from the Holy Ghost, testifying to me of truth.

How I live my faith

I pray each morning and each night, thanking God for my blessings and asking for His presence to be near my family and I. I pray in gratitude over each meal. When my heart is down, I sing His hymns. I look for His hand in my life and seek His direction. I smile at my neighbors. I serve when I see a need. I find a purpose in each of my days, no matter how identical they were to the day before. I read about my Savior. I teach my children about Him. And, I strive to follow His teachings. I pay tithing. I fast. I teach others, and glean from their examples. I let others teach me. I repent. I learn. And, I strive to be a better person from one moment to the next. I love my kids. Immensely. I listen to prophets. I follow their counsel. I am loyal and loving to my husband. I keep my home full of good things. I listen to the Spirit. I am kind to others. I bite my lip. I compliment. I endure. I rely on Christ. I read from the scriptures daily. I find things to be grateful for. I am honest. And, I let my belief in a heaven, in a Savior, and in a loving Father direct my daily life, my daily perspective.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?
