Hi I'm Jorge

I love lacrosse. I love photography. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing lacrosse. That and photography are two things I will never give up. I joined the church in 2011 and am now serving as a full time missionary in the Missouri St Louis Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized in July of 2011. Trust me when I say it was not an easy choice. I had just made the decision to return to my parents home when three missionaries knocked on my door. Those forty-five minutes changed my life. I knew those young men were special and that I wanted to be just like them. They sent my contact information to the missionaries near my parents and started my lessons. I met five amazing missionaries that worked so hard to teach me all that they could. I was met with many obstacles in the month before my baptism. One being that my parents were moving. I knew I had a decision to make. I could join this church and then attempt to make the move or join the church and set off on my own again with a new foundation to stand upon. I chose to stay. It was difficult but Heavenly Father confirmed to me through my scripture study that my choice was correct. That night has stayed in my heart as the one of the most important nights of my life. That night I not only finished the Book of Mormon for the first time, but I had finally understood what it meant to be converted: to give your life to God and know He will guide you in all that you do. Today, I am serving as a missionary, do the same thing those missionaries did for me. As I have continued to study the scriptures and pray, I have come to know that everything has led me here.

How I live my faith

As a new member of the church there are plenty of times that I feel as if I don't know enough. As a missionary, though, I have come to know that relying on Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost can give me strength beyond what I have imagined. Everyday I share messages about Jesus Christ and how by living His gospel we truly can experience all the joy promised to us in the scriptures. Deciding to serve a mission was not easy and required a lot of thought but being able to help others find the joy that the gospel brings is so special to me. I have never felt so close God. This is an experience in life I already cherish.
