Hi I'm Russell

I'm a cancer survivor. I love my family, I love my life. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born in Alberta, Canada. I love to be outside, play sports, and do basically anything with friends and family. I am the third of seven kids in my family. I feel truly happy when I am able to help others. I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer when I was 17 years old. I am alive and happy today because of the love of God. I am an engineering student. I want to be the best person I can be so that my own future children and family can be strong and happy. I believe that this what will bring me the most joy that I can feel in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been blessed by following the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. When I was a high school student, I began to study the scriptures each day. As I did this I recognized the power of God enter my life and enable me to make choices that brought me lasting peace and happiness. As I've gone through times of trial, such as overcoming cancer, I have felt that same sustaining help and love. As I've trusted in my Saviour Jesus Christ, I have been able to see beyond my own trials and to have hope in the future. I have also been able to do many great things beyond my own ability. Through regular study of the scriptures and fervent prayer, I continue on a path of learning and true understanding of my relationship with God. I know that I am a son of a loving Heavenly Father. He sent his Son, Jesus Christ to take upon Himself the sins of everyone. Because of Jesus Christ, I can return to live with him and my family can be together forever. I want to do all I can to follow Him.

How I live my faith

Each day, I strive to see others in the same light as our Heavenly Father. Having a correct perspective of being brothers and sisters with each other allows me to feel great love toward those with whom I associate. I seek opportunities to reach out and share the great joy that I have felt and experienced in my life from following the principles of the doctrine of Jesus Christ. I strive to help and lift others to allow all to live in happiness.
