Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a twin, a teacher, I love new adventures, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Michigan and I have an identical twin sister who is my best friend. When I was little, I wanted to be just like my older brother and so I started playing soccer. Now I love playing most any team sport with my friends, but I also enjoy just talking and catching up. I graduated from college with a degree in Math Education along with a Physics minor. Maybe the craziest and coolest thing I've done thus far, in my opinion, is gone skydiving with my best friend. Twice! I want to travel the entire USA and see all the amazing things from each state. Oh, and I love dogs, cars, and trying new things, but I don't like to be in the 'limelight'. I love life :-)

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon. The gospel is centered on Christ and is all about families. When I moved out of my parents' house to go to college, is when I truly realized just how much I love this gospel. I started to recognize all the simple things that He has given us to bless my life every day. The love and happiness I feel in the simple things lets me know that He loves and cares for me. In addition to the love I feel all around me, as I read the scriptures I feel great peace and comfort that I don't want to live without; I need it every day. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity He has given me to repent and become better and that His Son came to earth to make it possible for each of us to return to live with Him again, but it's up to me to make good and right choices. I love this gospel so much and I know that without it and what it has taught me, I would not be who I am today.

How I live my faith

Above all, daily scripture study and prayer are the biggest ways that I live my faith every day. Attending Seminary and Institute classes has helped me develop a love for the scriptures. One of my favorite ways to live the gospel is through service for others. Some service opportunities I've had through the church are serving a full-time mission, teaching the 3-7 year old kids at church, and going to the bishop's storehouse to pack food orders. However, my favorite memories of service are the little, unplanned ones with my friends and family. I enjoy sharing a spiritual message with other sisters in the church that I visit on a monthly basis and developing friendships with them. Service helps me to recognize the love that Heavenly Father has for each of us, His children, and as I serve I grow closer to and develop greater love for those I am serving and those that I am serving with. Attending church weekly is another important thing I do to strengthen my faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. To partake of the sacrament weekly and be uplifted by others there with the same beliefs as me is a spiritual foundation for my week. Dressing modestly and having standards set for and by me about future choices and choices today give me great guidance and direction in life, as well as helping me to remember our Savior Jesus Christ. Just remember, "that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass" (Alma 37:6)
