Hi I'm Austin

I grew up in California, I have a family of 8, I'm a Mormon, and now I am serving a mission in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

About Me

I am currently enrolled in college studying medicine. I want to be a doctor, and always have. I love to help people it has always been one of my favorite things to do. I volunteer on Sundays at an old folks home and I play board games with the residents that live there. Outside of this, I have a passion for volleyball and singing. I am a part of my schools Concert Choir, and I have competitively played volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love what it has made me as a person. My family has grown to be an incredibly strong a close knit family. I know that without the gospel in my life that this would never have happened. I strive daily to become a better person, and thanks to the lords help I can truly see improvement in all that I do. I know I am not perfect, and I know life will never be perfect and there will always be challenges. However, I know that as long as I do my part, the lord will bless me and help me in all that I strive for. I am grateful for that, and if I had not been born in the Mormon faith than I don't think that this would be entirely possible. I'm grateful for the wonderful life I live, for my incredible friends, for my family, and most importantly for the gospel which has blessed my life and help me become the person I am today. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now living in a college ward I am a leader in an activity called Family Home Evening. As we are all away from our true families, we form small families within our ward and get together on Monday nights for activities. Sometimes these will be listening to talks from our Prophets or other church leaders, other times we will do community service, or lastly we will play games and bond as a family that way. Outside of this, I practice my faith through living and Jesus Christ did when he was on this Earth. One of the major aspects that we can see Jesus doing is when he is on this Earth he is almost always preaching the word of God and performing service. I try to follow his example by spending a couple hours in a day to learn my scriptures and teachings of our prophets. I try to reach out to those who I can see need someone in their lives to help them, even if I do not personally know them I will always let these strangers know that I am there for them, even if it seems nobody else is. Lastly, I perform service weekly to those in need. I try to live as God would, and I know I am not perfect in my daily dealings with men, but as long as I am getting there I know my Heavenly Father will bless me. I will be leaving to Honduras to preach the word of God, and hopefully as I serve there they will learn from me as I learn from them. I hope to touch their lives with the Gospel, that they too may find the light of God just as I have. This is my hope and desire. This is how I live my faith,
