Hi I'm Sean

Raised in Murray Utah. I'm an athlete, musician, college student, the brother of the best sister in the world, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of two in our family, and the proud and lucky older brother of the best "special needs" sister in the entire world! While others may think my sister has a lot of "disabilities" to me, she is more normal than anyone I know. We never argue, or fight, and you'll never meet a more loving person than my sister. As for my hobbies, I was born an athlete and a musician. In high school I competitively played both soccer and golf, and proudly played in our high school Jazz Band. After graduating from high school in 2007, I pursued my love for music by making auditions for College Jazz Ensemble. There I had the amazing privilege and experience of playing with world renowned Wayne Bergeron, as well as Carl Allen, Rodney Jones and their students at the well known Julliard School of Music in New York City. I later graduated from College with my Associates of Science in 2008. I love the outdoors, I love sports, I love music, and I love being active.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up as a child, I was always surrounded by good examples. My parents have always had remarkable faith in the Lord. They taught me how to have faith in the Savior Jesus Christ, and rely on Him, especially during difficult times. My younger sister is a good example. Its never easy watching my little sister go through a life threatening or risky surgeries because of her health problems. But, I was taught that the Savior knows exactly how I feel, and even how my sister feels because of his sacrificing Atonement. So, I guess you could say that I've always had powerful and strong motivations to be a member of the church. However, the decision to continue in my faith was a decision I made on my own. I, like everyone else had to learn whether or not what I was raised to believe was really true or not. Today I'm glad to say, that through my own personal study and prayer, I know that this gospel really is true, and that it is the path to true happiness in both this life and the next. Through personal experience and a spiritual witness from the Holy Ghost I have come to know that Heavenly Father lives and loves us; that Jesus Christ lives, that He is the Son of God, and that He carried out the infinite Atonement; that Joseph Smith is the prophet of God who was called to restore the gospel; that we are led by a living prophet today; and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior’s true Church on the earth.

How I live my faith

As a member of the church, I have had the opportunity of serving my local community as an Assistant Scout Leader for 11 year old Boy Scouts of America. Participating in one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations is a blast! It helps young people develop and build character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. By combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of our country. The Boy Scouts of America believes; and through over a century of experience, knows that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society. BSA rocks!

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Faith in Jesus Christ means acting on your belief in Him. One way we do this is by living by His teachings. Jesus Christ taught principles like faith, repentance, love, forgiveness, trust, and prayer. When understood and applied, these gospel principles help strengthen our relationships in marriage, family or friends. Although family relationships, or relationships with others, can be challenging at times, our Heavenly Father blesses us as we strive to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. These teaching bring us happiness and help us strengthen our families and relationships with others. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith is a principle of action. It is how you act and the way you live because of what you believe. It motivates you to act upon the things you hope for and believe in, even before knowing what the end result will be. Acting upon what you believe is the key to faith. The Apostle James taught that without action, faith means nothing. "faith without works is dead" (see James 2:26) That is why faith centered in the Lord Jesus Christ that leads to action is so important. Having faith in Christ means trusting Him, having confidence in Him, and acting upon your belief in Him. It is this type of faith that will lead you to salvation. "For no man can be saved, according to the words of Christ, save they shall have faith in his name" (Moroni 7:38) Show more Show less
