Hi I'm Michael Smith

I am a computer support specialist, who loves to hike and camp. I am a father, a husband, and a friend.

About Me

I love technology. I try to stay on top of the latest technology trends, and learn more about where they are going. However I also love to put all that down, and go hiking and camping. Getting back to nature is super important. I am a father of 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. I have been married to my eternal companion for 20 years. I serve in the bishopric of my ward, sing in the stake choir, and spend time with the youth. I have completed Pathway, and am now working toward a degree from BYUi in Computer Information Technology.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the church, but I can honestly say that I was not truly converted until I was in my 30's. I had been married for 10 years, and during that time my wife had never shown any interest in knowing more about the church. The day that we buried her grandmother, that all changed. We were leaving the service and she looked at me and said that she would like to talk to the missionaries. It really took me by surprise. I was planning to make calls to get the missionaries to come visit, but the Lord took control and the missionaries arrive the very next day. One miracle after another followed until I was able to take my wife, and my son into the waters of baptism. I know that God lives, and that He loves us. Time after time I have seen His hand in our lives in very conspicuous ways. I have read and studied the Book or Mormon, and I know that it is the word of God. I have tried the experiment that Alma references, and have learned for myself that these things are true. I have listened to the words of modern day prophets, and felt the spirit testify of the truthfulness of their words.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of what i believe by simply living it. I hope that others will see my dedication to Christ by the way that I live my life. I post uplifting messages on Facebook every chance I get. Most are talks by the leaders of the church, but some are just uplifting articles that I have found. I also try to wish each person that I know a happy Birthday.
