Hi I'm Libby

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary this year. I am a mom of a missionary and a teenage girl. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family watching movies, playing games, and going on vacations!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints because I believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored through Joseph Smith. I believe that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon that was written by people that lived in the Americas it is another testament of Jesus Christ. It does not replace the Bible, it strengthens it. It testifies of Jesus Christ, his birth and his death. Jesus Christ also visited them and taught them just as he taught his own people. I believe that he also visited other people. I believe that we lived before with Heavenly Father before we came to this earth, that we will also return to live with Heavely Father again. I also believe that I will be able be with my family forever, that we will not be seperated after death. That brings so much happiness and joy to me. I could not imagine not having my parents, husband and children throughout all eternity. I believe in the Atonement of Jesus Christ and that through him and his sacrifice that I can by saved so I can live with Heavenly Father and my family through all eternity. I believe that Jesus Christ went to the Garden of Gethsemane and there he suffered all of the sins and infirmities of the world that he bled from every pore. That he suffered that he might know me and the pains that I have gone through and will go through. I have felt comfort and forgivness from him. He has given me strength when I am week. I am grateful to have a living prophet. That as the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to what it was when Christ was on the earth and I know that there were Prophets and Disciples, that they could communicate with him. And we have that. We get to listen to them and their councel often. They lead and guide our church. They testify of Jesus Christ at all times. As you read over and over in the scriptures I am the same Yesterday, Today and Forever. I testify to you that our church teaches the same thing he taught while he was here on earth.

How I live my faith

Because their is no paid ministy in our church we all have the chance to serve. I have had the chance to learn and grow so much in the service that I have done through our church. I have taught the younger children. It is amazing to see a childs love for Jesus Christ. They love learning the stories from the scriptures. I have also had the chance to teach the Young Women ages 12-18. They have a Theme that they repeat every Sunday and it goes: We are daughters of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him. We will "stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places" (Mosiah 18:9) as we strive to live the Young Women values, which are: Faith Divine Nature Individual Worth Knowledge Choice and Accountability Good Works Integrity and Virtue. We believe as we come to accept and act upon these values, we will be prepared to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation. What a great thing to be able to watch a group of beautiful young women repeat that each Sunday. They are examples of all those that associate with them. They work to live the high standards. They work to live they way Christ would have them. I love seeing girls that want to dress modestly, going out and serving others, by babysitting or cleaning house for someone in need. Learning new things like sewing, or cooking and going off to college to prepare them for the future. And the very best thing is watching them develop their testimonies of Jesus Christ. I was just called as a ward missionary where we are a support to the missionaries serving in our ward. Which is a great place for me to serve right as I have a son that is serving a mission. It helps me feel closer to him while he is away from home.
