Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 24 years. I am the mother of 6 children ranging from age 9-22. My life has been dedicated to my family and I love being a wife and a mother. I am an elementary school teacher, but I have been a stay at home mom for the past 20 years ( I taught for 4 years and am now substitute teaching with a current teaching certificate for the state of Florida). I love children and I have always felt that the investment of time, teaching and love we give to our own and other peoples children will be the most valuable investment we will ever make. I love the outdoors. I love hiking, biking, water skiing, and being in the mountains. I was raised by parents that saw the sacred beauty of the natural world and helped me to cherish every flower, tree and animal. I love people. I don't necessarily like being in crowds of people, but looking into another persons eyes and enjoying their unique personality is one of my favorite things in life. I am an aspiring artist. I haven't given myself much time during my most intense mothering years to develop this talent, but I anticipate and look forward to expanding this dormant interest in the very near future. My oldest son served as a missionary in Uruguay for two years and my second son is now serving as a missionary in Brazil. I hope that all of my children have this opportunity and that my husband and I can also serve when our youngest is independent. Our oldest son is now married and the story begins again! LIFE IS GOOD!!

Why I am a Mormon

My membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is to me the most incalculable blessing in my life. I consider every joy I have experienced and will experience to be intimately linked to my testimony of, and complete devotion to, Jesus Christ and my membership in His church. I have come to know that The Book of Mormon is the source of complete truth, comfort, miracles and the foundation of my testimony of Jesus Christ. The New Testiment has been a priceless treasure ot me as it recorded the life of our Savior. I love the bible and have been a student of it's prophets, miracles and teachings throughout my entire life. I have learned to listen to and follow ancient and modern prophets and have seen the protection and blessings that have been the fruits of these decision. I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father who knows me personally and has a plan for my happiness both in this life and in the life to come. Through His only Begotten Son I have hope of one day being in His presence again never to part.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is very simple and incredibly all encompassing. The way I live my faith is simply following this pattern. Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. I was baptized by a holder of the priesthood as an 8 year old child. In the many years that have followed, I have had the weekly privilege of renewing my baptismal covenant to always remember Jesus Christ and keep his commandments. After carefully considering each week and willingly surrendering sin and repenting, my weekly opportunity to partake of the sacrament allows me to receive the promised blessing of always having the spirit of the Lord to be with me. This has been a catalyst for needed change in me personally and a motivation to be of service to others. As I remember the Lord in my day to day comings and goings I am able to love people and serve them as I feel He would. I have been able to serve children and teens for the past 20 years in LDS church callings, as well as support my children and husband as they have done the same. I prepare lessons on gospel topics, help with activities, take meals to families in need, visit women in their homes and bring a gospel message to share with them. I attend church every Sunday with my family and actively serve the members of my congregation. I love being a part of my church family. The greatest opportunity I have to live my faith is within my own home. I am able to love and forgive, pray and study the scriptures, teach and endlessly serve my family. The most important work I do happens within the walls of my own home. Living the gospel is simple and encompasses all that I do. It is a reflection of the love I feel for my Savior and my hope that I will be able to receive the gift of grace He offers me.
