Hi I'm Andy

I am a Boise State fan, a mountain climber, I love potatoes, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Idaho native and thus of course love potatoes, but no I did not grow up on a potato farm! I love going hiking, camping, and anything that involves the outdoors. My goal is to one day travel to the Himalayas and see all the mountains but I'm too wimpy to actually climb them. I am in my 20's, I am going to college and majoring in statistics, maybe I'll be an FBI analyst one day. I love reading, my favorite books are by Tolkien (ie Lord of the Rings) but I am up for any book. I am the youngest of 5, a proud uncle of 2 girls and 3 boys, and the owner of a 1996 Ford Explorer. I swim, play Ultimate Frisbee, basketball, and if I were not so skinny I would play football too!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church because I know without a doubt that it is not a man made church but the very Church of Jesus Christ. This knowledge did not come overnight or even over the course of many months but has come from the application and testing of the principles that the Church teaches. I am a very analytical and logical person (I did debate in high school) and things need to make sense to me. So, as I read the scriptures, both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, prayed and lived my life in harmony with the standards the Church teaches, I felt and saw a definite difference in my life. I became happier, I became closer to God, I felt the Holy Ghost and the peace and comfort that it brings. I knew that what I was doing was good, I knew I was from God. My testimony has only continued to deepen as I have delved into the foundation of the Church, both ancient and modern. What I mean by that is that I have seen the exact same teachings, organization, and relationship with Christ between the Church described in the New Testament and the Church today. I am a member because I know this is what my Savior, Jesus Christ wants for me. I am a member because only through the Gospel of Jesus Christ can I find true peace and happiness. And I have found it.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary in the Texas Lubbock Mission. I have devoted two years of my life to share with people how God has blessed my life and invite to find out for themselves if this Church is what it claims to be. I also strive to follow the example that Christ set for me. I fall far short of Him, but each day I try to do a little better to love and serve those around me and live a clean, happy life.
