Hi I'm Ray Rushing

I am a daddy and a husband. I love being outdoors in the great state of Wyoming. I am proud to be an American. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a proud daddy of two amazing little girls and am married to my best friend. Currently I am enrolled in college to become a RN. Exercise and particularly weight lifting is the best way for me to relieve stress and relax. The Chicago Bears are the greatest professional sports team on the planet. I also enjoy watching The Avalanche play and going to Rockies games in Denver, Co. Some of my favorite past times include spending time with my family, rpg games on the Xbox (currently am really into Skyrim), casual hiking in the mountains, riding horses when I can, and learning anything and everything I can, especially History.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read The Book Of Mormon, prayed about it, and know it to be a true testament of Christ. I have been in the same building as the Prophet and Apostles and have felt the truthfulness of their words and testaments. My family is the most important thing in this world, to me and I know if I follow His commandments we can be a family for all eternity instead of "until death do us part." My life, marriage, and home have been positively impacted by my studying, learning, and practicing of gospel principles in my life. I believe that Heavenly Father still has guidance and commandments to help us with this mortal life, and that he relays these messages through his prophet Thomas S. Monson.

How I live my faith

I attend church and take the sacrament as much as possible. I am the Sunday School teacher for the 11 & 12 year old youth in my ward, and find they teach me easily as much as I do them. I try to pray often and to study all the scriptures to learn what He would have me do.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Ray Rushing
We absolutely regard the bible as holy scripture and the word of God. In it can be found many answers as well as instruction to life and beyond. The new testament teaches of the birth, teachings, ministering, sacrifice and death, and subsequent resurrection of Jesus Christ savior of us all. The old testament teaches us of our origins and Jesus himself commanded us to study the teachings of the prophets found therein. The Bible is not only filled with rich historical stories from a time long ago, but also contains invaluable instruction, and when study prayerfully the answers to many of life's questions.
