Hi I'm Jen Brown

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the proud stay-at-home mom of three very entertaining children. Our daughter is 5 and she is always teaching me the gospel. Our son is 3 and is such a character, learning and growing every day. Our youngest is almost 20 months and is definitely learning to tell us what he wants. We are expecting our fourth child and are so excited for another spirit to love and learn from. I am grateful to my husband for being so willing and dedicated to caring for our temporal and spiritual needs. He is a wonderful spiritual leader and he holds the priesthood (the power of God given to worthy men ) worthily which blesses our family every day. I'm grateful to be able to stay home and enjoy the wonderful blessings Heavenly Father has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and am so grateful for the commandments. I've heard that Heavenly Father has given us commandments to protect our agency- one of His greatest gifts. I see this in my life and in the lives of those I love. What a wonderful blessing to know that He cares so much about us to give us choice and the ability to change through the atonement of His Son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have been called to be the secretary for the Relief Society (women's organization) in my ward. I feel like this calling is an answer to prayer and a real manifestation of God's love for me. I have learned a lot already and I am so grateful for the opportunity to get to know and help the women around me. My calling has made me realize how much I need to rely on the Lord every day. I have also been called to be a visiting teacher. I have really enjoyed getting to know the women I visit monthly and learning from them. My husband has a calling over some of the men in our ward. He goes on weekly visits to new move-ins or others who may need visitors. I enjoy supporting him in his calling.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Jen Brown
For me, dressing modestly helps me to have clean thoughts about myself and others. Modesty helps me remember the sacred covenants I have made to be faithful to my husband. One of the best ways to teach children to be modest is by our example as their parents. Show more Show less
