Hi I'm Doug

I'm a professional entertainer, composer, songwriter, producer, and yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the only living brother in a family of six sisters. We entertain all over the world making music together. Music is definitely my passion. Scuba diving, swimming, hiking, traveling, cooking gourmet food (I love good food!), and making short films are some of my favorite hobbies.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've studied the Book of Mormon numerous times, prayed about it, and know by the power of the Holy Ghost it is true. The Book of Mormon has helped me to know my Savior, Jesus Christ, in the most profound and intimate way I have ever experienced. I know because it is true that God has restored His church again on the earth and has called prophets and apostles once again, just like the New Testament church that Jesus established. I haven't found that same organization anywhere else in the world except in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (nicknamed the Mormons). The peace and incredible joy found in this church continue to build my testimony of the truthfulness of this church.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed many opportunities to serve as organist and pianist since the age of 14 in various congregations of my church. I also had the privilege of teaching Sunday School classes to all ages. Some of my favorite opportunities have come from making regular visits to members of my local congregation. Each time I would share simple thoughts and scriptures that could bless their lives. Often, visits included helping them plant gardens, power washing the homes of widows, cooking meals for the sick, etc. I felt the love of the Savior by serving in this way. In the music industry it seems that people are expected to compromise their beliefs to succeed. My experience is that I can contribute more to the industry, my family and community by living the teachings of the Savior as revealed through the scriptures and his living Prophet and Apostles. I am grateful for the strength that my faith gives me to keep my standards in an industry of shifting values.
