Hi I'm Amber

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an active mom to 4 beautiful children. They keep me hopping with school, year round swimming, Boy Scouts and playgroups. I enjoy being outside, especially at the lake with my family, and in my free time I love to sew and create new things. I have been to Germany, France, Austria and Mexico, and someday I would like to add Brazil and England. Other things I enjoy doing are singing, baking, organizing, and of course, shopping.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was raised that way and I was converted. Everything that I have been taught has been confirmed to me through scripture study, prayer and the Holy Ghost. Personal revelation from the Lord has helped me understand who I am and what my responsibilities are here on earth. There is a phrase floating around that says "If you want to talk to the Lord, pray. If you want the Lord to talk to you, read your scriptures". When I read the scriptures my mind is constantly asking questions, and I am able to feel prompted to think about things that I wouldn't normally think about. Every time I read the scriptures I learn something new, sometimes about the Lord and His plan, sometimes about how the Lord feels about me. I know when I am actively seeking the Lord, that He is eager to show me all I can comprehend, and I know that He loves me and you just the same.

How I live my faith

I have a great job in my congregation. I get to work with the 8-12 year old girls helping them learn how to set goals, come closer to Christ and have fun all at the same time. I also get to spend time each month visiting with some of the other women in my congregation. I learn more about them, develop friendships, and hopefully help them on their individual road back to our Savior. I think the most important, and gratifying work I do though is in my own home. I try to make sure we are having family prayer every morning and night, reading from the scriptures daily, and promoting peace through righteous behavior. When we are all focused on keeping the commandments and following the counsel from our leaders, we are exponentially happier than when we let contention and anger bring us down. I want my home to be a place where we all want to be because the Spirit of God is there.
