Hi I'm Ashley Liane Eagar

I am a working, college student. I love playing the piano and playing basketball, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the small town of Eagar, Arizona. I loved living in a small town because it was so simple and peaceful. I was able to have all of family within walking distance and they supported me in everything i did. In high school i played volleyball, basketball and i ran track. Four days after graduation i started college at Northern Arizona University, i went to school there for a year and a half. I loved going to school there but i decided to transfer to Weber State University. Moving up to Utah was one of the hardest decisions but i have now been here for a year and it has been the best decision of my life. I will be starting my junior year of college this fall. I am working three jobs this summer and my life is so crazy. I am just trying to get my life set before i graduate in the spring of 2015 with my bachelors in pre-med psychology. Life is very stressful right now and I have no idea where my life is going to go but i'm excited to find out =)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the only thing in my life that consistently makes sense. I have had many trials and for a long time i thought that i could handle them myself. I thought that as long as i was a good person i didn't need so be anything more. After my first year in college i saw how much my life was lacking. I attended the temple and simply prayed to ask what i needed in my life and that's when i decided to move to Utah. As soon as i got up here my life started progressing. I have found myself seeking the gospel and striving to learn more. I got my head screwed on right and now i'm never turning back. I have found that our church isn't about being perfect. It is about believing. Believing that you are more than the trials that you face or the addictions you have. I have found that if i have faith in the Heavenly Father, I can conquer whatever i have ahead of me. Because faith conquers doubt. I truly believe in this gospel and in this plan of happiness. I have seen where i would be without it and i am so glad i am not there. =)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be a strong member of my college ward. I am called as the compassionate service leader and it is a very challenging calling but maybe someday i will get the hang of it. Last fall i started attending evening institute (church class) and that has completely built my faith. The teachers have taught me how to rely on my testimony, and how to use my trials to make me a better person.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Ashley Liane Eagar
If you want to know if our church is true, pray about it. I know that seems really simple but a factor of prayer that i have recently learned is to listen in your prayers. Ask to know if the church is true, then wait. Clear your mind and listen to the spirit. If you don't get an answer right about ask and ask and ask again. If you truly want to know it will be shown unto you. =) Show more Show less
