Hi I'm Laura

I grew up in CA in a part member family. I am a military wife, a mother of four, and a Sales Rep. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a part member family, my Dad was not a member of the church but my Mom is. I have been a military wife for almost 20 years and have lived in many different places. I have four amazing kids. My youngest daughter was born with a congenital heart defect and has brought our family extra blessings and reminds us how precious life is. My husband is a convert and we were recently sealed in the temple to each other and our kids for all time and eternity. I also work part time as a Sales Rep. on base. What I love to do most is help people, whether its through my calling at church or other people I know or meet from all walks of life. I also love going on a date night with my husband, going on any type of vacation with my family and squeezing in time to read.

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon is part of who I am, its not something I just do on Sundays. Being Mormon brings my life spirituality, joy, peace, meaning, comfort, strength, guidance and support. The Gospel has always been a blessing in my life. Every where we have been stationed we have found a LDS church to attend and there was always the same type of loving members of the church there to be our family away from home. Yet, most of all I am Mormon because I know it is true. I have a testimony of not only the Bible but of the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, because I read it and prayed about it and the Holy Spirit has testified to my heart that it is true. I feel so happy and comforted and inspired when I read it. I also know that my Father in Heaven loves me and knows me personally. Every time I pray, read the scriptures, or go to church I can feel the Holy Spirit, The Holy Ghost testify the truthfulness of what I am hearing and feeling and reading, thats why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

There are so many ways we can live our faith. One way I live my faith is by serving others, my family, my friends, my community and my Heavenly Father. I love to volunteer with the women at church at our local food bank. We also help collect donations for the Women's Battered Shelter down town. Another way I live my faith is by visiting the women in our ward to see how they are doing and if they need any help. Sometimes they are lonely, sick, or in need of a listening ear. I also live my faith by: teaching my kids to love God, our country, and our neighbors and by praying daily, reading my scriptures and applying them in my life, and by being the best example I can to my kids and others around me.
