Hi I'm David

I'm from Louisiana. I'm kind of nerd and I even have a podcast to prove it! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm very into comics, anime, manga, and lots of other nerdy things. I've gone to quite a few conventions for my interests and I even host a podcast discussing these things. I'm into board games and trading card games. I used to play a lot of video games, but I've since slowed down because of my work. I tend to prefer board games anyway do to the more social nature of them. I've worked a few different jobs including being a game tester for a pretty big gaming company as well as being a barista at one point.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the LDS church, but I haven't always blindly believed. I don't have a conversion story like most people do because of my being born in the church, but I did have to gain my own testimony of the gospel to stick around. When I was a teenager I decided I would learn for myself that church was the true church restored to the Earth so I did what we're taught to do. I asked my Heavenly Father, I studied the scriptures, and I even fasted a few times to make sure Heavenly Father knew I seriously wanted to know. It didn't happen overnight. In fact, it didn't even happen the same week, but after some time and effort I eventually received an answer. I know of a surety that Joseph Smith was a prophet on the Earth in these latter days and I know that he translated the Book of Mormon which is the word of God passed on to us from prophets in ancient times. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it is a companion to the Holy Bible. I know that I have a Father in Heaven and that he loves me very much. I know Heavenly Father loves me so much he sent his son Jesus Christ to this Earth to be an example for our lives and to take upon himself all of our sins so that we may one day return to Him. I know that we have a Prophet on the Earth today and he speaks for our Heavenly Father. I know all these things are true and I know anyone can know that these things are true if they do what I did and ask Heavenly Father with faith and do the work he asks of us so that they may receive an answer. I'm very grateful for this church and I know that my Heavenly Father has blessed me through it.

How I live my faith

In my church I've held a few callings, but one of my favorite things to do is teach. I've taught a few classes in Sunday school and given talks at church. I like that preparing for lessons motivates me to study the scriptures and the teachings of the prophets so that I can improve my testimony and have something of value to share with those who will listen. I've worked alongside missionaries in my church to help them teach people who are interested in learning about the gospel, and I'm currently about so serve a mission of my own.
